THE PROPOSAL - The Bride's Perspective

On November 23, 2007, Daniel and I were in Dallas watching the UT vs. A&M football game at my friend Rachel Eaton's house.

Afterwards, Daniel asked me to take a drive around White Rock Lake with him to look at real estate. Considering this was something we did all the time, I did not think much of it.

Daniel seemed really nervous during the car ride to White Rock. I started to think that something was up. I had also noticed little things throughout the weekend that suggested that he was about to propose. To "test" this presumption, I asked if he could take me to 7-11 for a snack first. He normally buys a stick of beef jerky and cheese. If he does, I thought, I am probably just reading too much into his behavior. When Daniel went to the cash register with nothing to eat but Tic Tacs, I knew. He was about to propose!

We drove to the lake and walked out on a dock. As the final "test," I asked if I could wear his jacket. When he said "No," I knew the ring must be in his coat pocket. I became too excited to remember much of anything after that.

He gave me a hug and knelt down on one knee.

Apparently I said yes.

It was the best day of my life!
